What Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 meant to us

What Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 meant to us

You may not have realised, but Clerkenwell Design Week is a big event in the British Ceramic Tile diary. Every year we join the celebrations with a host of activities and talks from our London hub, and 2018 was no different.

We wanted to use this year’s event to highlight the best of British design – something that, as a proud member of Made in Britain, is close to our hearts. We manufacture all our ceramic tiles here in Devon, so it felt right to reach out to other British brands in the same boat.

Joined by March & May, Roman Limited and The White Birk Sink Company, we showcased a variety of British-made products with workshops on screenprinting, design and more for our guests to get involved with.

Screenprinting is something we regularly use in the creation of our tiles, in particular with our V&A and Ted Baker ranges, so it was a wonderful opportunity to see March & May in action and using the same technique for their fabric.

Also on the schedule was the chance to hear from the V&A’s design team, who chatted through the history and inspiration behind our most loved tile designs, such as the Omar & Mina range.

It was great to speak to and hear from so many people as passionate about good British design as we are during Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 – we can’t wait for next year already!
