Encaustic Tiles
Share

Encaustic tiles are made up of two or more colours of clay which are inlaid together to create the pattern, rather than being painted on the top with a glaze. So the pattern itself is actually produced using the different pigments of clay, meaning the pattern stays even as the tile wears down. Encaustic tiles have been around since medieval times and are often seen in Victorian homes.
This type of tile always has vibrant, interesting patterns and are great to bring drama, warmth and texture to your interiors. Have a read of Honestly for a blogger who is passionate about this type of tile.
