What are Splashbacks?

Splashbacks are really on trend right now, yet we bet some of you are still questioning what is a splashback and how do I use them?

Put simply, a splashback is a large piece of material that serves the purpose of protecting walls and surfaces from, well you guessed it, splashes. Not just splashes though, they’re handy when it comes to protecting surfaces from heat and damage!

However, they’re not simply known for their functional qualities, many of them can add a real touch of flair to an interior design project with stunning designs that could be mistaken for art!

Kitchen Splashbacks

Splashbacks for kitchens are one of the most common, and not only that, they can serve two functions within the kitchen. A cooker splashback can help to protect your kitchen from food splashes that occur whilst cooking. Walls and surfaces are also at risk whilst cooking due to the heat, a splashback can help with this, especially glass splashbacks, such as ours which have a good thermal resistance.

A kitchen sink splashback can also come in handy as it will defend walls and surfaces from overspill and splashes. Again, choosing a solid glass splashback is a good move as they are 100% waterproof as long as they’ve been sealed correctly with silicone.

Bathroom Splashbacks

A bathroom splashback serves a similar purpose as one in the kitchen. With the amount of water that is used within a bathroom, it’s inevitable that there will be splashes and spills, over time this can cause issues, including mould and mildew. Splashbacks are easy to wipe clean, which means stray toothpaste marks are no longer an issue!

Wall Art

Splashbacks aren’t strictly limited to their functional uses, beautiful in their own right, especially our ArTile range from Ted Baker, they can make great wall art. Either affixed directly to the wall, or casually placed using a picture rail they are an instant update that can be used functionally at a later date if you want to replace them!
